Message from the President

Mr. Biswadeb SAHA

February 10, 1909 is one of the few stories of Ramnagar High School. Happy start to this school. The school that started that day as an elementary school. For a long time, his companion passed through various episodes of Ramnagar High School (H.S). From a historical point of view, this period of the first decade of the twentieth century is very important and eventful. On the one hand, at that time, not only Bengal, but the whole of India became agitated in the anti-Bengal movement against the acquisition of the Lord. On the other hand, the mission of the new awakening of the nineteenth century was giving birth to new ideas in the minds of the people. Rabindranath Tagore, the symbol of the Indian soul, still did not win the Nobel Prize. Two lion cubs of Bengal, Khudiram Basu and Prafulla Chaki, had just been martyred. In Britain, the sons of Agni, furious with oppression, were roaming from town to town, from village to village. And all over the country at that time ‘Chakar Ghar Ghar, Parsir Ghar Ghar. ‘Though the mind is richer in thought and meditation then the literature, culture and spiritual world of the country. But rural Bengal is still like a hopeless and destitute circle in the circle of ‘hopeless directionless darkness’. One cannot even imagine ‘in today’s environment and context the background of that day a hundred years ago or the “Baramassyaya” of the common man’. On that day, in all cases, only ‘no’ and no. There are no roads, no bridges, no vehicles, no doctors, no medicines, no education. There is no dream of the future in the journey of poverty-stricken life – there is no present. We are not dead in the minds of the people of that day. ‘Let’s get back to the point. What I want to say is that in such a time of crisis, a few educated liberals in the midst of various adversities in the jungle-lit area of the impoverished village of Bengal have left their mark. At that time the school was recognized as Ram Nagar Middle English School. The idea of upgrading the school to a junior high school started from 1950-51, but  In 1954-55, the school was sanctioned as Ramnagar Junior High School. Later, with the tireless efforts of Navanidhar Mitra, Professor Mahadev Chattopadhyay and Dr. Sudhanshu Shekhar Roy of the high school and with the help of local educationists, the school was upgraded to Ramnagar High School in 1964. In 1998, the school was developed at the higher secondary level with the initiative of Dr. Amit Chattopadhyay and with the cooperation of all. Today the Ramnagar High School is a traditional school and a tool for acquiring knowledge.
